Emerge New Work Festival - 21-27 June

Following the success of last year's Emerge, The Carriageworks, Stage@Leeds and Seven are collaborating to create a week-long event for emerging artists with potential for national recognition, giving them the opportunity to take centre stage. The festival will run from Monday 21 June until Sunday 27 June.

For the first time new talent emerging in the Leeds area will have the opportunity to be seen by different audiences and be given valuable expert advice for a week from Monday 20 July 2009. The venues will hold a variety of performances over the week, resulting in a showcase of multiple genres.

The Leeds New Work Festival will allow live performance artists to showcase their work to an audience and expert panel. Each performance will last a maximum of one hour, followed by judging from an expert panel and audience discussion. The event will provide opportunities for networking and forge a relationship between the community and Leeds performance venues.
