The second of our early evening Sunday gigs – “All Done by 7” – in March and April. They will feature two bands, with a theme – this time it is Electro Jazz. Try them out!
Leeds-based keyboard-guru Dan Goldman blos into Seven Arts with his space-funk group The ElecTrio for some seriously funky workouts! Formed in 2012, The ElecTrio have supported artists including Blue Note artist José James and will be playing hard-hitting, adventurous original compositions and twisted-up covers from their upcoming 2017 album; think Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters with a twist!
Influenced by esteemed Rhodes players/artists including Herbie Hancock and The Headhunters, Bob James, Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Jeff Lorber, and Chick Corea and incorporating fiery Rhodes piano solos, spacey synths, dirty bass and heavy beats, the ElecTrio always take their audience on a journey into the outer reaches of the musical universe.
Our second early evening this time featuring something more electric with the hot, steamy, edgy, nasty, funk-fusion of the ElecTrio – Dan Goldman Rhodes + JDXA, Hamlet Luton, Bass and Gordon Kilroy, drums and Svarc-Hanley-Longhawn – Nik Svarc guitar, Steve Hanley drums and Martin Longhawn keyboards.

Svarc-Hanley-Longhawn is not a classic organ jazz trio in the vein of Jimmy Smith and the like. Rather than swinging standards you have ambient grooves, post-rock jams and Krantz-esq solos are the order of the day. The band walk the line between jazz and rock nicely
If you are a fan of Jon Scofield, Wayne Krantz, Troyka, etc or just want to hear some interesting new music then check them out. Hear the music at http://svarchanleylonghawn.bandcamp.com
